Almighty Father, our Sovereign, the one and only TRUE GOD,
we thank You for Your grace and mercy that have carried us through this season of waiting and fasting.
Lord, we bring all our petitions before You today.
In Your compassion, receive our prayers and accept our devotion, though imperfect we may be.
O great God of love, pour Your love into our hardened hearts.
Soften us, that we may fear You rightly and love You fully with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and love our neighbour as ourselves.
Father, grant us the Spirit of love,
especially toward the poor, the vulnerable, and the oppressed in our society.
Fill us with compassion and a desire to serve.
Grant us love for our country,
and give us repentant hearts for our failings – both personal and collective –
where we have not honoured or feared You as we ought.
Turn our hearts toward forgiveness,
that we may be reconciled with one another and united in love.
Inspire us to use the resources You have given us with gratitude and reverence.
Help us to trust in Your goodness and providence for our nation, our families, and our communities,
as we learn to live as our brother’s keeper.
Keep us, O Lord, in holy reverence of You, and strengthen our trust in Your power,
as we remember Your Word in Book of Isaiah 51:12–15:
“I, even I, am He who comforts you… The Lord of hosts is His name.”
Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy;
Your faithfulness endures forever.
